This Privacy Policy explains how ZVI LLC collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects personal information when you use Z.V.I.
ZVI LLC, a South Dakota limited liability company ("ZVI LLC," "we," "our," or "us"), operates and provides the Z.V.I. website at zvi.app, the Z.V.I. mobile applications, the voice-based conversational experience, account and subscription features, support channels, and related communications (collectively, the "Service").
Z.V.I. is an AI-generated spiritual, educational, and personal-growth experience. You are interacting with an artificial intelligence system, not Zvi Ish-Shalom or another human. Z.V.I. is the name of the Service. Zvi Ish-Shalom does not provide or operate the Service in his individual capacity. The Service processes the words you speak or type so it can generate responses and, when enabled for your account, remember prior conversations.
This Policy applies to personal information we process through the Service. It does not control the independent privacy practices of third-party websites, app stores, authentication providers, payment processors, community platforms, browsers, video-event platforms, or other services you choose to use. Those providers may apply their own privacy policies and terms.
By using the Service, you acknowledge this Policy. Where applicable law requires consent for a particular use, we will request that consent or provide the relevant choice separately.
Legal Bases (EEA, UK, and Similar Jurisdictions). Where data-protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on: performance of our contract with you, to provide the Service; your consent, for marketing, optional transcript review, and optional research or improvement uses where consent is the applicable legal basis; our legitimate interests in securing, maintaining, and improving the Service and in preventing fraud and misuse; and compliance with legal obligations. Conversation content may reveal beliefs, health, sexuality, or other information treated as sensitive or specially protected under applicable law. Where applicable law requires separate consent or another condition for processing such information, we will request that consent or rely on another condition permitted by law. You may withdraw consent at any time; withdrawal does not affect processing lawfully carried out before withdrawal and may prevent us from providing features that require the relevant processing.
The Service is available only to adults who are at least 18 years old. Access to the Service requires an affirmative confirmation that you are at least 18 years old. We may record the date, time, platform, and version of the applicable notice, Terms, or Policy associated with that confirmation.
We collect information that you provide directly, including:
Please do not submit passwords, payment-card numbers, government identification numbers, financial-account credentials, or other information that is not reasonably necessary to use the Service.
When you use the microphone, your spoken input is transmitted from your device to a speech-recognition provider so it can be converted into text. Microphone audio does not pass through ZVI LLC servers, ZVI LLC does not store the raw audio, and the primary transcription provider is configured to process the audio transiently without retaining it or using it to train its general models.
If the primary transcription provider is unavailable, the Service may use speech recognition built into your browser or device. In that situation, the browser or device provider processes the audio under its own privacy terms and technical settings, which we do not control.
We do not use your voice input to create a voiceprint, identify or authenticate you, or determine your identity from your voice. We use it to transcribe the words you choose to speak. The text transcript is then processed and retained as described below.
We store the text of your conversations with Z.V.I. using industry standard encryption, so the Service can display or provide transcripts, maintain continuity across sessions, support your account, and generate more context-aware responses. A transcript may include your input, the AI-generated response, timestamps, session identifiers, language selections, and related session information.
Conversation transcripts are not reviewed or accessed by any human at ZVI LLC except as described in Section 13 or when disclosure is required by law or requested by you under Section 17. Depending on the available feature, you may be able to view, download, or delete transcripts associated with your account. Ending a beta period, subscription, promotional period, or individual session does not by itself delete prior conversation history.
Please remember that a transcript that you download may contain highly personal material even if it does not contain your name. Someone familiar with your circumstances may be able to recognize you from context should they access transcripts that you downloaded onto your personal devices.
To provide persistent memory and personalized responses, we may create and store derived information from your conversations, including:
Embeddings are not a complete substitute for the underlying text. The memory system may store both numerical data and readable text associated with your account. The Service may use your email address or another account identifier in retrieval metadata when necessary to associate stored memory with you.
Summaries and memory data are generated by automated systems and may be incomplete or inaccurate. They are used to support the Service, not to make legal, employment, credit, insurance, housing, medical, or similarly significant decisions about you.
You may create or access an account using an email verification code or an available third-party sign-in option.
The Service is designed to be passwordless. Authentication tokens may be stored on your device and expire periodically. You are responsible for protecting access to your device, email account, and sign-in providers.
If you purchase a session, subscription, membership, or other offering, we may collect and retain transaction-related information such as the plan or product, purchase date, amount, currency, renewal status, cancellation status, session or usage balance, promotion, and payment channel.
Payment information is processed by the payment provider or platform used for the transaction, which may be a payment processor, community-platform provider, app-store billing system, or another authorized provider. ZVI LLC generally does not receive or store your full payment-card number. The provider may share transaction status, billing identifiers, contact information, and limited payment details needed to administer your purchase, prevent fraud, and maintain records.
Prices and payment flows may differ by website, app store, community platform, or other channel. The provider you use may process information under its own privacy policy and terms.
We and our service providers may automatically collect technical and operational information, including:
We use this information to operate and secure the Service, diagnose problems, provide support, understand service performance, prevent misuse, administer usage limits, and improve reliability. We do not currently use third-party advertising trackers or cross-site behavioral advertising through the Service.
Z.V.I. is designed for spiritual reflection, and users may choose to discuss deeply personal subjects. Conversation content may reveal or concern religious or philosophical beliefs, health or mental-health experiences, grief, trauma, relationships, sexuality, family matters, substance use or psychedelic experiences, or other information that may be considered sensitive under applicable law.
The Service is not a healthcare provider, psychotherapy service, clinical-supervision service, or medical-record system. Unless we separately agree in writing, ZVI LLC does not act as a HIPAA business associate and the Service is not designed for protected health information. Professionals should not submit identifiable patient, client, student, employee, or case information. Use only fictional or sufficiently de-identified scenarios that you are legally and ethically permitted to discuss.
We do not use microphone audio to identify you through a voiceprint. However, the words you speak and the resulting transcript may still contain sensitive personal information.
We use personal information for the following purposes:
We use service providers and platforms to operate the Service. They may process personal information for the functions described below. Information sent to a provider may include account identifiers when those identifiers are reasonably necessary for authentication, payment, email delivery, account association, memory retrieval, support, or other requested functions.
| Function | Category of recipient | Information and purpose |
|---|---|---|
| AI response generation | Large-language-model providers | Conversation text, retrieved context, and instructions used to generate the response. |
| Speech-to-text | Speech-recognition providers; browser or device fallback | Microphone audio used to create a text transcript. The fallback provider applies its own privacy terms. |
| Voice synthesis | Voice-synthesis providers | AI response text used to generate spoken output. |
| Memory and retrieval | Vector-database and retrieval providers | Embeddings, readable transcript chunks, session identifiers, and account or user identifiers used to retrieve the correct user’s prior material. |
| Hosting, storage, database, and short-lived state | Cloud hosting, storage, database, and caching providers | Account information, transcripts, summaries, operational state, and related service data. |
| Payments and memberships | Payment processors, community-platform providers, and app-store billing channels | Account and transaction information needed to process purchases, manage subscriptions, validate status, and provide access. |
| Authentication | Identity and single-sign-on providers | Email or relay address, unique provider identifier, and any name you choose to share. |
| Email and lifecycle communications | Email delivery and lifecycle-messaging providers | Email address, verification and transaction information, communication preferences, and defined service or lifecycle events. |
| Diagnostics and error reporting | Error-monitoring and diagnostics providers | Technical logs, error information, device details, and other diagnostics when configured. |
| Public-site analytics | Web analytics providers | Limited information about visits to public informational pages, including pages viewed, referring pages, campaign information, and general browser and device information. Analytics applies only to public informational pages, uses first-party cookies, collects limited page, referrer, campaign, and device information, and is disabled in authenticated or private conversation contexts. |
The providers within each category, and the categories themselves, may change as the Service evolves. We disclose recipients by category rather than by name; you may request the names of recipients applicable to your information using the contact details in Section 25. We select and configure providers based on operational, security, privacy, and legal considerations. We do not sell conversation content to providers or authorize them to use it for their own advertising. We use AI and speech providers through business or API arrangements intended to prevent submitted content from being used to train their general models, subject to the applicable agreement and configuration.
The Service may also link to or integrate with independent services such as app stores, browsers, community platforms, or live-event platforms. Those services may determine their own purposes and means of processing and may not act solely on our behalf.
Z.V.I. is private by default. Conversation content is processed by automated systems and service providers as described in this Policy. Neither Zvi Ish-Shalom nor other ZVI LLC personnel have standing access to conversation transcripts.
Where the Service makes an optional transcript-review control available to your account, you may use that control to authorize human review of your conversation transcripts. The disclosure presented with the control will describe who may review the transcripts, which may include Zvi Ish-Shalom or other authorized ZVI LLC personnel, and the purposes for which review may occur.
Transcript-review authorization is optional and applies prospectively. Where the control is available, you may withdraw the authorization through that control or by contacting support. Withdrawal stops future review covered by the authorization.
Authorization does not mean that conversations are monitored in real time or that any particular conversation will be reviewed. Conversations are not monitored in real time.
Transcript-review controls are not available to all users or accounts.
Except for review authorized under Section 13, we do not conduct human review of identifiable transcripts. Quality assurance, troubleshooting, and reliability analysis are performed using automated, de-identified, aggregate, or content-free information.
We do not monitor conversations in real time.
We may also evaluate the Service using automated tests, aggregate operational metrics, synthetic conversations, or content-free diagnostic information.
Where the Service makes an optional research control available to your account, you may use that control to authorize the uses described in the disclosure presented with the control. Those uses may include research, testing, improvement, teachings, educational materials, collective transmissions, or similar purposes.
Research authorization is separate from transcript-review authorization. Authorizing one does not authorize the other.
Research authorization is optional and applies prospectively. Where the control is available, you may withdraw the authorization through that control or by contacting support. Withdrawal stops future use covered by the authorization, but may not require ZVI to remove information from de-identified aggregate results or completed or distributed materials that no longer reasonably identify you and were lawfully created before withdrawal.
Research controls are not available to all users or accounts.
Depending on your account and the features made available to you, you may be able to manage certain privacy and communication choices through controls provided in the Service or through the request methods described in this Policy.
Not every control described in this Section is available to every user or account. The location of these controls and request methods varies. We may record the setting, time, account, and policy or consent version associated with each choice.
Changes to optional transcript-review and research authorizations apply prospectively. Withdrawal stops future review or use covered by the authorization, subject to the limitations described in Sections 13, 15, and 19. Certain processing remains necessary to provide the Service, maintain security, comply with law, respond to incidents, or honor a request you make. Marketing messages include an unsubscribe method, although we may continue to send non-promotional account, transaction, security, and policy notices.
We may disclose personal information when we reasonably believe it is necessary to:
The Service is not monitored by a human in real time and is not an emergency, crisis, medical, or mental-health service. ZVI LLC may not know your identity, location, or circumstances and does not promise to contact emergency services or another person on your behalf.
For a concise description of Z.V.I.'s safety boundaries and crisis resources, see the AI Safety and Crisis Protocol.
We retain personal information for different periods depending on the information, the purpose for which it is used, your account status, legal requirements, and operational needs. The following describes the intended approach:
| Category | General retention approach |
|---|---|
| Raw microphone audio | Never stored on ZVI LLC systems. Audio streams from your device directly to the transcription provider with retention disabled at the API level on every connection, so it exists there only for the duration of processing and is not used to train that provider's models. A browser or device fallback follows that provider's own terms. Generated voice audio is cached temporarily and deleted through an automated cleanup process. Any provider copy is subject to the configured provider settings and applicable agreement. |
| Transcripts, summaries, embeddings, and memory | Generally retained while your account remains active and afterward unless you request deletion. Expiration of beta, promotional access, or a subscription does not automatically delete this information. |
| Account and authentication records | Retained while needed to maintain the account, provide security, document acknowledgments, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. |
| Payment and transaction records | Retained for accounting, tax, fraud-prevention, chargeback, and legal purposes for the period required or permitted by law. |
| Support, diagnostic, and lifecycle records | Retained for the period reasonably needed to resolve issues, maintain security, analyze reliability, and administer communications. |
We do not retain conversation content beyond the periods described above in anticipation of legal process. We may retain transaction and support records for the accounting, tax, and fraud-prevention periods described above, and we may retain de-identified or aggregate information that no longer reasonably identifies you.
You may request deletion through the account controls, when available, or by emailing support@zvi.app with the subject line "Privacy Request - Account Deletion." We may take reasonable steps to verify that the request comes from the account holder.
A completed deletion request is intended to permanently delete your account information, conversation transcripts, summaries, embeddings, retrieval metadata, and associated memory data. Upon processing a verified deletion request, we remove your account information, conversation transcripts, summaries, embeddings, and associated memory data from our active systems.
A narrow set of records sits outside the conversation-deletion pipeline and may remain:
After deletion is completed, it may not be possible to restore your account, sessions, transcripts, or memory. We will provide a confirmation when the request has been completed or explain any lawful limitation on the request.
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. These measures include encryption in transit and at rest where supported, passwordless authentication, expiring access tokens, provider access controls, environment-level secrets, monitoring, and other safeguards appropriate to the nature of the Service.
Payment-card information is handled by the applicable payment processor or platform rather than stored in full by ZVI LLC. Human access to conversation content is limited as described in Sections 13 and 17. Service providers process conversation content as described in Section 12.
No method of transmission, storage, or security is completely reliable. You should protect access to your email, device, and sign-in providers; use secure networks; log out of shared devices; and contact us promptly if you believe your account or information has been compromised.
ZVI LLC is based in the United States. We and our service providers may process and store personal information in the United States and other countries where we or they operate. Those countries may have privacy laws that differ from the laws where you live.
Where required by applicable law, we use appropriate contractual or other safeguards for international transfers. By using the Service from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other jurisdictions, subject to the rights and protections available under applicable law.
Depending on where you live and subject to applicable exceptions, you may have the right to:
We do not sell personal information for money or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not use conversation content or sensitive personal information for targeted advertising. Because we do not currently engage in those practices, the Service does not provide a separate sale/share opt-out. We will honor legally required opt-out preference signals where applicable.
To submit a request, use the available account control or email support@zvi.app with the subject line "Privacy Request." Please describe the request and identify the email address associated with your account. We may need to verify your identity and authority before acting. An authorized agent may submit a request when permitted by law, but we may require proof of authorization and direct verification with you.
We will respond within the period required by applicable law. We may deny or limit a request where the law permits, including when we cannot reasonably verify the request, the information is subject to a legal exception, or fulfilling the request would adversely affect the rights of another person.
Browser "Do Not Track" signals do not have a uniform technical or legal meaning. We do not currently use cross-site tracking for targeted advertising; we respond to legally recognized preference signals as required.
Z.V.I. is an adults-only Service and is not directed to children or minors. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 for use of the Service.
Access to the Service requires an affirmative confirmation that you are at least 18 years old. A parent or guardian who believes a minor has provided personal information may contact us at support@zvi.app.
We may update this Policy to reflect changes in the Service, technology, providers, legal requirements, or our practices. We will post the updated Policy, revise the "Last updated" date, and maintain version records through our document-control process.
If a change is material, we may provide additional notice through the Service, by email, or through another reasonable method. Where required, we will request a new acknowledgment or consent before applying the change.
